New Sailors and Young Sailors

Chautauqua Yacht Club welcomes sailors of all ages interested in the excitement of sailboat racing. For those at the Chautauqua Institution, the Chautauqua Sailing Department at the Turney Sailing Center provides an excellent point of contact for your questions. The Sailing Department also provides a full program of lessons and training and rentals for those interested in learning more.

If you think you might like to see what racing is like, we would be happy to take you out for an easy, no-stress Practice Race on selected Sunday afternoons. Check our Season Schedule for the dates. Please let Nick Ugoletti (724-762-6748) know in advance so that we may be sure to have a boat ready to take you out. We'd love to have you!

For new racers interested in getting out on the course more regularly, we would be happy to try to connect you with the appropriate class and boat.
